Welcome to Shattering Stigma with Stories: Understanding Mental Health, where we create powerful experiences that provide a deeper understanding of life with mental illness, as well as increase your community’s ability to respond compassionately and effectively to those who live with mental illness and their families or friends.

The next Shattering Stigma event is coming soon – May 5!

Register now to join us for Mental Health: What Parents Need to Know at Lakeridge Junior High in Lake Oswego.

Anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges can happen to our kids or to their friends. It can be hard to understand or know how to help. Join us for a half-day conference Saturday, May 5th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at LJHS to learn more about kids and depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide and other mental health issues kids may face, as well as what to look for and how to get help. Breakout sessions will include ADHD and related depression and anxiety, supporting families struggling with mental health, working with the school to support your child and emotional coping skills for parents AND kids.

This event will be free of charge. Parents only. No childcare will be available. Register today at: https://mentalhealthforparentslakeoswego.eventbrite.com

Hi! That’s me, Tara Rolstad.

Wouldn’t it be great if all of us, everyone in our business, organizations and faith communities—churches, synagogues, wherever we gather—were comfortable talking about mental health, and walking alongside those with mental illness? If we could speak as openly with those around us in the pews about depression, or bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia as we do about cancer or diabetes?

That’s the future I envisioned when I began Shattering Stigma, and it’s a future you can help create. Want to bring a speaker or conference experience to your school, organization or church? We are planning now for future events! Contact us now!

Stay tuned for more details, stay connected, read some amazing stories on the blog, and help start shattering stigma today!
